I'd appreciate any input anyone has, this is driving me nuts.I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 (all updates current) on computer A and anytime I try to remote into computer A using Teamviewer from any other computer it ONLY works if I have a monitor attached to computer A. Would it be possible to force an output to HDMI regardless of display being present? I assume the display is always being rendered for the last known resolution, as TeamViewer has no issues with a headless Windows box. Ideally I would have this functioning the same as Windows. I have a feeling X11 can be configured for multiple monitors, however I'm unsure how to force hardware to take priority.Īn additional issue I'm dealing with is that when displays are changed the session is locking / terminating and returning to login screen, so additionally I need to solve this for when the display swaps back and forth from the dummy display. This allowed TeamViewer to connect, however I couldn't take the connection back when plugging in HDMI. The fix I've heard talked about, and was semi-successful with was installing xserver-xorg-video-dummy and faking a display input. When a display is disconnected, or if one isn't plugged in, TeamViewer will return a black display. If you haven't dealt with getting TeamViewer running on a headless Linux box before, the issue is that it transmits exactly what's being output from the video processor. I would like to be able to connect even if there's an issue with the screen. The issue I'm having is getting TeamViewer access to these devices when deployed in the field if they have an issue.
